How Natural Healing Helped me Recover From My Swimming Injuries

The flow of water in my body felt energising and refreshing. There is more freedom under the water because I can do various swimming movements. I also felt powerful when I was in the water. On my school graduation, my parents treated our family to a swimming outing in a resort to celebrate my achievements. Since they know that swimming is my passion, they let me swim for hours until I get tired.

On the second day of our outing, I felt less energetic compared to swimming yesterday. But still, I continued my swimming routine and neglected the signs of my body pain. I swam without stretching and warm-up exercises recommended by my physiotherapist in Singapore.

As I kicked and stroked my arms, it became heavier until I reached the middle of the pool. The voice of my parents became muffled, and the laughter of my cousins sounded so distant. The pool was 7ft deep, where I was stuck because I could not move my arms and neck.

The strain on my neck was inhibiting my ability to save myself. The waters have stained my eyes and filled my mouth. Before I drowned into the pool floor, I managed to shout for help. And the last memory I remembered was my mother jumping into the waters.

Waking Up With My Swim Injuries

The moment I opened my eyes, the place felt unfamiliar. There was a physiotherapist beside me, and my parents were talking with the doctor. I overheard my physiotherapist say: “I recommend for your son to have natural healing. It is better to be in a physiotherapy clinic or osteopathic centre in Singapore.” As I tried to open my mouth to speak, I felt irritation and inflammation on my shoulders. Luckily, my parents noticed that I was awake and told me everything that happened.

After saving me from the pool, my parents immediately called for a physiotherapy clinic in Singapore. The physiotherapist told them that I strained my shoulders by forcing myself to swim. It caused a strain on my rotator’s cuffs, arms, shoulders and neck. Fortunately, my swimming injuries were not critical. They said that natural healing was the best choice for my recovery.

Natural Healing: A Swimmer’s Road to Recovery

The body has a connection with the soul and mind. So, treating the body has to be holistic. The road to recovery is not always about the physical aspect. Sometimes, emotional and mental wellbeing can also do wonders. Hence, natural healing in Singapore was my best choice to recover from my swimming injuries.

1. Considers the Emotional and Spiritual Aspect

Holistic means wholeness. In natural healing, therapists also consider the emotional and spiritual aspects of a person. My therapist asked me: have you ever thought of stopping to swim? You might get traumatised by the experience.

Even though I didn't want to accept it myself, the incident had left a scar on my soul. I was clinging to my passion and forcing myself to like swimming the way I used to. Fortunately, natural health offered personal counselling and mediation. It helped me reach my deepest desires and problems. Day by day, I grew stronger and braver by facing my traumas.

2. Improve the Physical Body Naturally

There was a minor interruption in my daily routine after the incident. But still, I felt stressed and anxious due to the accident’s effect on my wellbeing. A trusted physiotherapy clinic or pediatric clinic in Singapore should also prioritise the physical and emotional health of the patient. They should feel reassured that everything’s going to work.

This way, they can manage stress and anxiety. Natural healing believes that managing stress is also a helpful way to heal from a health condition.

3. Long-term Disease Prevention

My condition didn’t require me to undergo time-consuming and expensive treatments. In natural healing, they believe that preventive measures can provide more health benefits for the years to come. After my swimming injuries, my therapist told me to prioritise immunisation, regular health check-up, and annual treatments. This way, I could avoid accidents due to improper health management.

4. Manage Stress and Anxiety

5. Trying Different Methods

Finally, there are many different methods of natural healing. Due to my accident, my therapist recommended that I try massages, reiki healing, acupuncture, aromatherapy, and meditation. All of these contribute to the recovery of the mind, body, and soul as a whole.

I brought out my best body condition with Edge Healthcare, an osteopathic centre in Singapore. If you want to improve your natural healing, visit their website to talk with a physiotherapist.
