5 Exercises You Can Do on a Treadmill
Here are five exercises you can do at home on single gym equipment from Singapore sports and fitness stores.
#1 Walking Lunges
It is next to impossible to walk lunges across your room or home gym floor. Performing them on a treadmill removes the obstacles so you can focus on the move and get the most out of each lunge. Turn the speed up to 3 mph. Step forward with your right leg and lower your body until your right knee is bent at least 90 degrees. Set the treadmill on a five percent incline to focus on your glutes and hamstrings.
#2 Side Shuffles
Side shuffles are a great way to tone your inner and outer thighs. They're also great for toning your calves and double as a cardio exercise. You can stand sideways on the treadmill with your knees slightly bent and bring the speed up to between 3 and 5.5 mph.
#3 Reverse Mountain Climbers
Mountain climbers are known for kicking their legs back. On the other hand, this exercise places more emphasis on kicking your legs forward. However, you can use this exercise equipment in your Singapore home to perform this workout. Set the treadmill to 1 to 2 mph and drive one knee into your chest as the other leg extends back. Switch legs for the duration of the exercise.
#4 Low Side Shuffles
Stand sideways on the treadmill, and get into a quarter squat position, keeping your chest up and core braced. Bring the speed up to 1 to 2 mph. This exercise works your hard-to-hit glute medius, which is your side butt.
#5 Plank Walk
Get into a plank position with your hands on the side of the treadmill base. Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels, walk your hands forward for the whole exercise. Exercise works the front of your shoulders while forcing your stabilizers to work harder.
