The first six weeks after a mother gives birth is the period when both the parent and the baby are at their most vulnerable state. Most deaths occur within this period. Read more as we give you four tips on postnatal care in Singapore.
Get Help
Don’t try and do everything by yourself. This should be the time when you ask other family members to step in and do the chores you did before giving birth. If no one is available, consider hiring a nanny to do the household tasks for you. These six weeks are when you should be resting or taking care of your newborn.
Eat Properly
If you’re worried about your postpartum belly, eating a balanced diet can help you lose it. If you are breastfeeding, take a lot of water as well. If you’re suffering from urinary incontinence after giving birth in Singapore, avoid consuming soda, coffee, citrus, and other types of food that can irritate your bladder.
Exercise Lightly
If you are diagnosed with divarication of the recti, consider doing diastasis recti exercises to revert your body to normal. Do activities where you keep your belly in and not out. Seek the approval of your doctor before doing anything. After, seek an expert who will provide you with exercises that you can do to solve your problem.
Avoid Lifting Heavy Objects
Since your body is recovering, avoid lifting objects heavier than your baby. Lifting heavier objects can result in injuries and other accidents.
