How Did I Use TCM Fertility to Boost Chances of Conceiving

· Health

I spent all my time dating my husband throughout my college years and in our young professional years. All those times, we had been trying hard not to get me pregnant. I used birth control pills, and he used a condom. Now that we are into our two years of marriage, we finally decided to have a baby.

After deciding, I announced to my friends and family that we were planning to have a baby. They were all excited and saying, “you’re healthy, for sure you’ll be fertile.” I was confident to hear those comments from my friends and family.

Due to my mother’s eagerness, she told me to try Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for fertility in Singapore. My mom was enthusiastic, and she even went with me to a TCM clinic in Singapore. So, here is what happened when I tried TCM Fertility in Singapore.

How Does TCM Fertility Help Me?

I was a bit sceptical about TCM Fertility because I was not familiar with it. My mom was so eager that I was forced to try acupuncture TCM, Chinese herbs, and exercises. At first, I was doing this only to please my mom. However, in my second month, I’ve realised how TCM fertility helped me focus on conceiving.

  • For Acupuncture TCM - Acupuncture can help reduce depression, which affects a woman when trying to conceive. It can also decrease stress and anxiety that contributes to fertility problems. Doing a regular acupuncture session helped me relax and be mindful of my pregnancy.

  • Chinese Herbs - My mom gave me some Chinese herbs that regulate gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) to improve uterus blood flow. According to my mom, Chinese herbs could help me maintain my health during conceiving.

How Did I Use TCM for Fertility During Conceiving?

1. Following TCM Diet Approach

I followed TCM for a fertility approach by regularly consuming these Chinese herbs: Chinese red dates, walnuts, tangerine peel, fatty fish, plant-based Protein and high-fibre foods. I also eat more warm and cooked foods. Plus, I avoided cold and raw food to ensure menstrual flow when conceiving.

Becoming a mother, it is my first responsibility to give my future child the nutrition I need. That way, my baby will be born healthy and strong. Thankfully, my husband was also supportive throughout the process.

2. Warm Belly

My mom told me to warm my belly because the lower abdomen stores energy batteries or “fire” in Chinese medicine. I warmed my belly until my ovulation to ensure that I would conceive. I used a hot water bottle or heating pad for 20 minutes in the evening. My husband boiled some water at a medium temperature and helped me apply it.

There were times when I had intense cramps. However, applying castor oil to the lower abdomen helped lessen the pain. In conclusion, following a TCM for fertility approach had no harm when trying conceiving.

3. Exercise

During conceiving, I avoided intense workouts and switched to gentle yoga or pilates class. At this stage, I enrolled myself in a yoga class for fertility. Therefore, it helped me focus on my physical body every weekend. I also had a moderate exercise routine during the weekdays that I followed to improve my physical health. Plus, I incorporated a TCM for fertility approach in my workout routine. As a result, it made my body prepared for pregnancy.

4. Acupuncture TCM

My mom also encouraged me to try acupuncture TCM. The acupuncture TCM helped stimulate my egg production. My therapist also said that acupoints are selected to relax the body and improve the blood perfusion to my reproductive organs. Therefore, it would promote follicle development and enhance egg quality.

Also, acupuncture TCM helped me reduce stress from my work that helped increase my chances of conceiving. It also helped improve my sleep quality.

5. Go to a TCM Clinic

Lastly, I made sure that all of the TCM approaches I was doing was safe and effective. Hence, I went to a TCM clinic in Singapore that could help me address fertility issues. My chosen TCM clinic also offered me personalised TCM fertility that was suitable for my health. To sum up, visiting a TCM clinic in Singapore was all it took to convince me that TCM fertility was effective and safe.
